In clinical demonstrations with three different clients, Danie Beaulieu shows how to ask someone to identify with a simple prop—a book, a sheet of paper, a bowl of water—and gently elicit unconscious feelings and understandings, and use these to elicit movement and change. Impact Therapy, originally developed by Ed Jacobs, creates what I have called “Behavioral Metaphor,” which you can read about here.
